Arriving by Car

The I-95 is the major north - south road that gives access into Miami from Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. It runs through downtown Miami and into the US-1, South Dixie Highway. A toll-paying expressway, the Florida Turnpike, heads southwards from Orlando and central Florida to the Golden Glades Interchange in the northern part of Miami .

Getting Around Miami


The best way to get around the Miami Areais by car and a number of the rental firms offer hourly as well as daily and weekly rates. To avoid getting trapped in traffic congestion in the downtown area there is the 'Metromover'. Part bus, monorail and train, it comprises a couple of computer-controlled carriages that run on an elevated track and offers great views of central Miami .
